Timetabling FAQs

Teaching takes place between 9:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

On Wednesday, teaching finishes at 1:00pm.

Sessions finish ten minutes before the hour to allow travel time between other sessions.

Your timetable will be released by the end of July every year.

You can access your timetable via MyTimetable.

Your timetable will show you lectures and seminars both on campus and online.

Each teaching block will show you the module code, session type, the room location or if it is online, the start and end time of the session, and if you are in a central room, there will be a flickr link that will show you a photo of the room.

For some programmes, lectures will be pre-recorded and uploaded to your Canvas module course pages and will not appear on your teaching timetable. If your programme takes this approach, you will still have timetabled seminars, tutorials etc., for live interaction with staff and students.

Any Zoom links for online sessions will not appear on your timetable, they will be contained on your Canvas module course pages.

For bigger modules, they may have smaller seminar groups. You can find all seminar groups in the general course and unit timetables but your individual timetable will show the ones you need to attend. You don't have to attend all seminars in the general timetable.

Independent learning such as meetings with your personal tutor will not appear on your timetable.

Timetables can change right up to and including the first few weeks of each semester. This can be for several reasons but is mainly done to balance seminar group sizes or because module selections change impacting class sizes.

After the start of the academic year you will need permission from your tutor to change seminar groups.

You can view the timetable for a module using the guest login.

Please note that viewing a module timetable doesn’t automatically mean you can enrol in the module.
